Clay Baths
The body detoxes through the skin, so clay baths are becoming very popular to draw out impurities and cleanse the skin.
In the book "Energy to Heal", by Wendell Hoffman, he concluded that one got the best results for clay baths by immersing one-self in a tub of very warm/hot water mixed with a pure Bentonite clay for 15-20 minutes. You don't want to use just any clay. You will only get the best results if you use "clean natural clay."
An amazing effect of clay baths is the ability of the clay to stimulate the lymphatic system. The more clay used, the more powerful the response. 1 to 4 cups or more powdered clay sprinkled into the bathtub with very hot water run over the clay gave great results. Stir the clay around to help it dissolve. When it is mixed well, add cooler water until the water reaches the desired temperature. Submerge as much of the body as possible and soak for 15-20 minutes.
Another option is pour 2 to 4 cups of liquefied Bentonite into the bath water. After bathing in it, rinse off with clear water, shower or use a good body lotion after your clay bath to avoid dry skin. To mix the clay into a liquid, use 1 part dry powder clay to 10 parts of water in a non-metal jar with a plastic lid. Combine the dry clay with half of the water and shake vigorously for 5 minutes. Then, add the remaining water and shake again. Let stand over night and keep shaking until you get a smooth blend.
Run lots of water afterwards to rinse the clay out of the tub. The clay helps clean your drain pipes as it is washed down the drain.
Clay baths with one to four cups of powdered clay or two to four cups of liquid clay are also great to soak tired, over worked muscles.
How to preparing powdered Bentonite Clay for a Clay Bath: Using a plastic or glass bottle with a plastic cap. Ratio: one part Bentonite Clay to ten parts water. E.g.: ¼ cup of powdered Bentonite Clay to 2 ½ cups of water.
Scoop the dry Bentonite Clay to the container first, then fill it half full with filtered, bottled or distilled water. Shake vigorously. Add the rest of the water and shake again. Keep shaking for a while, then let it stand for a while and shake again. It takes several hours for the clay to expand. You should always shake it just before adding it to the hot bath water.
